I'm sure there is another thread asking fellow Scribblers what they are reading but I haven't the energy to go searching for it.
SO what are you currently reading? Would you recommend it to a friend?
I finished Karin Slaughter's latest book "Criminal" - I'm a Slaughter fan, she writes Thrillers/Mystery, and she's pretty damn good at it. I haven't found a book of hers that I didn't like however, her latest novel that jumps back and forth from the 60's, 70's. 80's and present, I found it hard to get into at first. In the end though, the story is pulled together in her famous Slaughter way and it worked. It also gives the reader a better insight into one of the character's we know and love from previous works. (I'd absolutely recommend this to Slaughter friends, and any one looking for a new author to follow).
Then I read the fourth installment in the Witch and Wizard series from James Patterson. This man is writing machine. At first I didn't think I was a fan because he puts out so much work and it all cannot be good, right? Well starting out in the series I found myself saying, why the hell am I reading this? The antagonist of the story, whose character name is "The One Who is The One", (Yeah, I'm not kidding) felt so unreal. I kept reading, trying to get past the pretentiousness of the character, then found myself actually getting into the fast pace the story had. Three books down, I was hooked. Then later on "The Kiss" came out and as I finished the story I was hoping it wasn't the end. Hopefully, mister writer man, who can write 50 books in a year (hey you never know) might come out with another one. (I would most definitely recommend)
Now I have started a new series by Amanda Hocking - This series is about Trolls (trylle, as Mrs. Hocking calls them.), it took a few pages for me to get hooked, but now I'm half way into the first and can't wait to see what is going to happen next! (It's too early in for me to recommend this series)
