| Can somebody please help me understand how to know when and where to use whom, because I have tried and am deeply, DEEPLY kerfuddled by it still. Why whom, and in what situations? Help! | |

| I believe that we covered this in the 'Grammar Tips' section of 'The Scrawler's Workplace.' The simple answer is to replace 'He' with 'Who.' If 'He' works, then use 'Who.' If you instead believe that 'Him' is proper, then use 'Whom.'
The long answer involves words such as 'nominative' and 'predicate,' which most of us don't understand. | |
