Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

Who Knew it First?
by Hydra M. Star

My thoughts of you
Are as yet imperfective
Impure and inevitable.

Your name, your face
Are trapped inside
My head.

When it is done
And the truth is
Finally not unspoken
Which of us
Will we say
Knew it first?

I am a little confused as to what this poem is supposed to be about.

i'm a bit confused as to what the heck "imperfective" is supposed to mean. sounds like you're mixing a couple of words into one. i still have no idea what it means.

I looked it up Imperfective and I am at a loss on how it fits with this application.

I get the idea that it is a poem about looking at the situation with your lover/mate and then going "This is going no place" and then wondering which of you knew that it was dead end road first.

But the poem does not make that clear, and even if I might have had this right, it is because I had to pull that out of knowing you Hydra (Well your style), not the poem itself.

Know what I mean?

I think a few more lines to get a feel might better, something to clue me in.

I did actually write another verse to it that would have made it more clear, but I didn't like it. I may take another stab at it... and no that's not what it means at all. Sort of the opposite.

There is no way on this earth that I would have read that and thought too people falling in love or realizing that they were falling for each other at all.
