| They always say drink a lot of water. But what exactly is a lot? How much water should you drink a day? 1 liter? 2 liter? 3 liter? More than 3 liter? | |

| Do you have to eat more calories in case to burn more calories?
I read somewhere that if you eat 2,000 calories a day, your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning 2,000 calories.
So if you only eat 1,000 calories a day, your metabolism will adjust itself so that your body begins burning only 1,000 calories.
Is that just a myth or is it true?

Is that just a myth or is it true? I don't know 100% either way, but it doesnt' make sense to me that it would be true. Fat is your bodies way of storing the calories you consume that you didn't burn so they can be used later. So, if your body adjusted to burn whatever amount of calories you're consuming then no one would have any fat stores because everything would be being burned, right?

Depends on who you ask. There is a lot of argument about water intake right now.

| Does anyone know any good complete all in one dietary supplements?
Right now I'm taking One A Day, a calcium/vitamin D supplement, an Omega 3-6-9 supplement, garlic tablets, and green tea extract. All of which suggest they be taken with food and all but the One A Day twice a day. That is basically five pills with every meal and sometimes I find it upsets my stomach. I need the things the supplements provide and a I feel better when taking them when not. I just wish there was a way I could get it all in one or maybe two pills.

| In my experience, I find that folks work out a lot recommend up to a gallon of water a day ( I may do 3/4 of that). The problem with the caloric intake adjustments seems to be the way the individual reacts to the shock. Some people will gain fat and feel very lethargic due to the body believing it is going to be starved, so it stores everything it can as fat and starts burning protein (it saves the fat, like Hydra says). I eat about 3200-4000 calories a day, depending, and take a crap load of vitamins. A lot of people don't know that the recommended 2000 calorie diets are designed for an average 140 lb person. I'm 229, so make your adjustments carefully. Cutting back (not completely) on carbs and adding a LOT of good proteins (about 0.7 grams per pound of body weight) like Whey and chicken can help a lot. This is another one of my passions (dont tell) so I dig talking about this!

| Some of your calories come from what you drink. You don't think it adds up, but it does. So if you drink a juice with a lot of sugar and you drink 16 bottles or something it can affect you. Or so I have read. | |

| That is very true. Juice is good for you, if you don't over do it. The amount of sugar in them, while natural, is tremendous. Water is always the best bet. Sport drinks are great during or after a workout, but they aren't meant to be used unless needed. Having a gallon of GatorAid everyday will not make things any better, but make you feel bloated. If you haven't depleted your body's electrolytes or vitamin/sugar stores through vigorous exercise, it would be a waste to drink a sport drink. | |

| The other thing you have to remember about juice is a lot of the juice on the market isn't fresh and is loaded with corn syrup and other very 'unnatural' things. Hell, in a lot of cases you'd do just as well to just drink soda for all the extra sugar these 'juices' have. | |
