For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

TRIBE - THE MOVIE (based on the best-selling novel and award-winning screenplay) is now in pre-production - see http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1581846/ - an investment pack is available for anyone who wants to be part of the next GREAT BRitish movie (incorporates some walk-on parts for investors). If interested, contact John McDonald - jmacdonald48@btinternet.com - or River George - rivergeorge@hotmail.co.uk

How does a movie named TRIBE get the distinction of being called the next Great British Movie?

Tribe is a now obsolete combat on-line game. I actually bought the rights to the game engine for one of my own projects. I never thought of it as being identified with Britain.

Tribe is also a now obsolete pseudo-historic narrative of early humans. I believe it was however based still in Africa.

I don't believe the Celts of Britain or the following Anglos considered themselves tribes. Tribes are more what the Native Americans were called.

Oh, and what is considered the last great British movie? Harry Potter? or do you still consider James Bond to hold that distinction? I just saw "Knowing," which was shot in GB, and it was horrible (probably not horrible, as I laughed most of the way through it, so it probably rates pretty high as a comedy).

Hey, johnmac, how is the movie doing? I tried doing a search, but only found a 1970 movie being listed. I figured by now that some promotion would have been started.
