The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

Once again the Christmas season is here. Are you one of them that go all the way with decorating the house inside and outside? Or are you a Grinch that doesn't like Christmas at all? Doesn't matter what it is, tell us about it and let us know why.

Christmas and Halloween are my favorite holidays – always have been. I love love love to go out and see the decorations, and I love to decorate my own home. I like the holiday spirit, I like the colder weather, and I like the music (just not EVERY second filled with it).

In short, yes, I go all out for Christmas. Two years ago I bought my own home and was THRILLED to purchase, take home, and set up my VERY OWN tree. I'll never forget that feeling. Smile

I am just like you are. I love the Christmas season. It doesn't have anything religious to do for me, it never had. I don't believe in God and never have, so Christmas was always about having a Christmas tree in your living room (A real one of course - you only get the nice smell from a real tree) a few gifts under the tree, the house smelling like cinnamon and cookies and a cool decoration outside and/or even inside the house.

I agree with you Skwerly, I love the music as well, but not every second of every day and what would Christmas be without all those movies on TV? I get excited like a little kid when I see the first decoration outside houses and I get never tired of it.
