Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

How are you all doing? My name is Poe and I have absolutely no idea what to write here. Ha. I'm 23 and have recently decided to stop leaving my writing on the back burner with so many other things. So, here I am in hopes of keeping my imagination flowing. It keeps me inspired to know there are others out there like myself. I write a little of everything. Genre-wise and format-wise. Which means I will probably be all over these boards. Yeah, so that's the short of it. Now I'll be off to share my warped vision with you all. Smile

Well the challengers are closed now and the voting started. So on July 1st we'll open new ones and then you have all the time to come up with something. Well all the time until the challenges close, which is usually around the 23rd, 25th of the month.

Don't put too much pressure on you, just keep it flowing, step by step.

Btw, we have enough exercises on here that make your writing flow and help you in coming up with something.
