Alentejo food
I`m boiling a pernil (pork knuckles) with
plenty of vegetables and slow cooks it until
the meat falls from the bone I pick it up
cut off the fat and bone and give it to
the neighbour`s dog that has been waiting
outside for that moment to arrive,
I drink the soup and eat the pieces meat and
the vegetables, we are both happy.
And this was an alternative poem.
