Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Writing Tip

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

The way to go Empty
PostSubject: The way to go   The way to go Icon_minitimeSeptember 5th 2008, 2:21 pm

I was mistaken
Many lovers are still mistaken
As they choose one way for the two of them

You taught me it's not about going on the same way together
Cause if you walk alone
You have only left half of the way
And half of a way is no way
You have to fall in love again
Create a new way for a new "the two of you"
On which you'll go till one goes again

I always wanted to go on such a way with you together
But you were of another opinion
First, I was sad, angry and disappointed
Before I got to know:
This lifestyle gives one much more

Cause you go your way and I go mine
I always did, I'll always do
I know several abbreviations, roadworks and diversions
My endogenous weatherman
Has a mostly apt weather forecast
I know the hills and valleys
Not all of them but many

But with you, my way is easier to go
You asphalted the stony ground, so I can walk faster
You built up signs to show me different options
You light my way with sunshine
Which makes me happy and bright
When I am lost at night
And when you go
I'd still be myself, I'd stay the same
Though not that happy as with you by my side

(well I don't know if it is more prose than a poem, but nevertheless I'd like you to comment on my piece of work)

It seems like you are or were working through some very intense emotions while writing this. I couldn't define for your whether its prose or poetry but it is good. It could however be great.
