| Okay, the rules of this game are simply.
I'll post a poem.
You pick one line from that poem, any line you like, and compose a poem of your own using it. The poem can be any length or genre you find most natural.
The next player picks a line from your poem and so on.
Example:
Roses are red Violets are blue I'm going to bed I have the flu
The next poem could be:
Drip, drop, little nose How the snot does flow I have the flu It is true So to the doctor I must go
Not my best work, but you get the idea.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Here's your first poem (it is one of my older ones):
Butterfly
In the slumber Inside the mist Of yesterday I am free As the cocoon burst I spread my wings And fly Spiraling down Down into the pit That is my world That is my life As the flames burn me I am eternally warmed Not caring what I am missing Never wanting anything more I find pleasure in the pit Pleasure in the pain | |

| Just something to explore...
The look in his eye that brightens my shadows The smile that brings a tear to my soul; for he knows All that has passed and forever gone before All this and more; just something to explore
A simple touch that delves deep beneath the surface as that touch become more than a simple caress Stroking my soul and my heart in lover's concert All this and more; just something to explore
The future lies before me yet still outside my reach but continue I must, for this lesson learned I must now teach Life is but an adventure; best shared with one whom you adore Simply all of this and more; just something to explore | |

| The Healer
They say that he is a healer of great power A simple touch that delves deep beneath the surface A soul that communicates with the angels A man of god
But what they don't know is he's got a secret Faith is a form of mind over matter The healing is all in their heads It is not in his hands | |

| Let's watch as the religious nuts scatter Faith is a form of mind over matter For the preacher is only a chatter Trying to make his pockets fatter The thread of humanity will shatter If we allow him to continue up this latter And find ourselves on a platter Can you see anything sadder? | |

| Can you see anything sadder? Than the my teardrop's steady pitpatter. Can you hear anything sadder? Than the piecing sound of my heart as it shatters. Can you feel anything sadder? Knowing that you are responsible for this matter. | |

| Knowing that you are responsible for this matter How could you pull the trigger? Now he lays on the floor And we forced to pick up His dead and dried body Like the wither of that flower Now you have the option Of justice with the barrel Or justice with bars | |

| Now he lays on the floor Blood strewn on the curtains He crawls and claws for the door Inside a crimson fountain. | |

| Follow me she beckons He crawls and claws for the door He knows he will not reach her Curse this dream of impossible things Curse this life of reality and pain Curse it all and let it die | |
