Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

What are your passions beside writing? What is it that let your heart burn when doing or thinking about?

Maybe you have a job that would break you losing it, or maybe you play an instrument you couldn't imagine living without? Or even a dream that lets your heart shine?

Tell us about it here. Tell us about your passions!

Some say it's just music, but music is a passion of mine. If there is a song I like, it doesn't matter what genre it is in. When the melody and the lyrics are right, I totally feel into the song with heart and soul.

And there is my dream of an own restaurant. I can picture everything in my mind. Can see the darker tables and benches with dark red cushions, the little raclette ovens on every single table. Can see the counter with the cash box and the kitchen. The room with the bar and some comfortable couches to just relax and have a drink there. Can see my office and everything else that's going to be a part of it. I can see it all, and I can't wait until I can fulfill this dream.

I love programming, and have a dream of writing my own on-line computer game. I had planned on working hard on it by now, but my Engineering class is mostly nimrods with no passion. I thus have to babysit children instead of working with them as we all chased our various passions.

So it goes.

My biggest passion aside from writing would have to be Tattooing and tattoo art. I have wanted to tattoo since I was probably four years. However, due to circumstances unforeseen I have yet to attain this goal. I want my own shop and have SO many plans for it, but it is just something I'll have to show true patience with.

My mom's boyfriend is a tattoo artist. Depending on where you live and the laws regarding the business and certification side of it it can be a difficult field to break out into, but if you're good there is a lot of money to be made. Well worth the effort, I'd say.

Passions:

This is a great question, right now most of my passions are on the back burner because life is just chugging by as I try to pay the bills.

However, I love food (to cook and create with food), I enjoy art in almost all it's forms, from drawing to making sculptures.

Hummm... Mainly I love the aspect of just being creative.

Just being creative is wonderful. No matter in what form. I love it so I definitely understand that!
