Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Writing Tip
Our monthly writing tips are written by our very own TerishD. You can read more in Terish's Blog located in "The Abstractions" area of the forum.

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

Hey Seraphim and welcome to Scribbles.

You don't have to be a writer to join this forum. We do have other sections that have to do with music, or other stuff.

Just look around and you'll see.

Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions.

Oh btw, I'm looking forward to reading your posts. Maybe we will find something of you in the lyrics section, since you are a musician.

Well, we have a song writers and artist forum. So, I guess you're wanting to join up makes sense.

My one question to you is this, you say you don't speak English well, is that because you're not a native English speaker? If so, cool, welcome to the board we have a few others here who aren't native English speakers. If not........

Hello and welcome to the forums! Glad to have you among us. You don't need to be a writer to appreciate writing or be inspired to be creative.

We have people here that like to do images, from photos to drawings. It's all accepted here at Scribbles.

I have already seen and commented on your work so far and I am glad to see you jumping into things.

Just one thing....

Umm , do you mean "So far you are an aspiring musician, artist and much much more?"

Or do you mean "you are a female so far as you have plans to change that aspect of yourself?
