Monthly Writing Prompt
For this month's writing prompt write a scene using the following sentence to start;

The streets were deserted. Where was everyone? Where had they all gone?

Look Back

When not able to write ahead, it helps to look back. In my case I had written a paragraph ahead of the story. What I needed to do was add a section of exposition (talking) presenting some facts. In going back, I realized that I could insert a section where a 'tour' of the surroundings could be done. This allowed for character interaction, story development, and other things that enabled me to present the facts in an entertaining manner.

One should not face a writer's block with the mentality of bursting through it. I have found in my own experience that a writer's block is usually due to my mind indicating that it has a problem in 'channeling' the story. One reason might be a re-imagining of certain story points. Another reason however is that there is a problem in where you are at in the story, so you need to look back and find out the problem with the 'journey' that prevents the tale from advancing.

PostSubject: 2104 Resolutions   2104 Resolutions Icon_minitimeJanuary 1st 2014, 12:14 pm

Well, my New Year resolution is to do my best to start making money from my writing. There are a number of things that need to be worked out, but I am considering my wealth of previous material and how best to present it. Many are already on Nook and Kindle (Roby Ward), but I plan on gaining actual print copies of many to sell to those still liking the turning of pages (as do I).

My other project is to start some actual work toward making my property in North Louisiana a home.

As far as this site is concerned, the story now appearing in the Passionate Corner should only run for about two more months. Note that I like the tale, and have already warned my 'editor' that once it finishes I will be putting it through edits to get it ready to release to the general public. Once it finishes, I am developing a series of science-fiction stories that will run in the regular forum.

I hope that everyone else is looking forward to a good year ahead. May the future for everyone include a government that actually does try to help, people that do consider good will a virtue, and a life that actually enables them to reach for their dreams. Best to all.

PostSubject: Making a start   2104 Resolutions Icon_minitimeJanuary 15th 2014, 2:40 pm

Well, at work to make my resolutions a reality. Purchased a home in north Louisiana. This will put me real close to my property so I can work on getting it ready. Bought a house instead of renting, because I should be able to get my money back out of a house.

Have started getting hard copies of my books. My first is the start of my adult Christian series, Dilemma of Dreams. The next will be the first book in my Terish Dozzrine series (never posted to the internet), "The Deadre War."
